5 Ways to Turn your Bathroom into your Favourite Room

Your bathroom is one of the rooms in your house that you can get away with adding a bit more of your personality into. Whilst every room in your home should feel unique to you, the bathroom is one where you can really go to town without making an interior design faux pas.

So what are some ways to make your bathroom your favourite room in the house? We’ve put together some of the best ways to make your bathroom a feature room.

1. Create a vanity room

It’s been a fashion over the years to have double sinks, but one of the most common problems homeowners face with their bathrooms it that they don’t have enough room.

So why bother with a double sink anyway? They rarely get used and you could utilise the space for more counter surfaces to give you and your partner more space to get ready in the mornings. You’ll also save money because you won’t have to pay for any extra pipework.

2. Get a luxury shower

Carrying on the theme of couple-friendly bathrooms, if you’ve got the room consider a larger shower. Create a luxurious experience with steam generators and body sprays, with two shower heads. Just bear in mind that you’ll need more space, so have a think about if there are other areas that you could save on.

3. Stand out with tiling

Get creative with your bathroom tiles. There are plenty of styles to choose from, but if you’re looking for a spa-inspired look, pale neutral colours look fabulous. Another great option are mosaic tiles, which when installed correctly look fantastic.

Ensure that you have your tiling done by a highly recommended, quality tradesperson so that your bathroom looks as beautiful as it deserves.

4. Use tech to enhance your experience

Have you considered using smart lighting in your bathroom? If you haven’t got a huge budget you could start with proximity sensors to allow lights to turn on and off automatically when someone enters and exits the bathroom.

If you’ve got a bit more money to spend, you could update your lighting so you can use it with your smartphone. This will allow you to dim the lights, change colours and set up programmes for different moods.

5. Accessorise

Accessories are the difference between a standard bathroom and a proper feature room. Choose accessories that match your personality and the style of your bathroom, such as nautical baskets and plaques. You could even add a small bookshelf with some fun and quirky books to decorate your bathroom.

Whatever your budget, there are plenty of things you can do to inject some of your personality into your bathroom. Try some or all of these tips and see how you can transform your bathroom.
